As mentioned on our previous post regarding the Nike Zoom Matumbo 2 Shoes, Nike has released the Volt-themed collection for the London Olympics 2012. Aside from the Matumbo 2, we’re now seeing the arrival of the Nike Zoom Victory Elite Spikes in October.

Check out how it looks:

Well yes, this is still in bright color. Actually, the new collection features an array of shoe models in different track and field categories in the same colorway.

Like the previous Nike Zoom Victory shoes, this Elite version is designed for races from 800m to 5000m.

These mid-distance spike shoes feature lightweight mesh material for lightweight breathability. This also has Flywire technology over the midfoot and it’s made of high tensile strength fibers right between the TPU and foam for lightweight dynamic fit. Additionally, Dynamic Flywire is also incorporated in these shoes for a more perfect fit.

Nike Matumbo 2 Shoes: Still The Lightest Track Shoe!

Tuesday, September 18, 2012

Did you watch the 2012 London Olympics? Well you probably have noticed that some of the track and field athletes were wearing new shoes. Well those shoes are actually from Nike as the brand has unveiled the Volt-themed collection, which holds an array of shoe models in different track and field categories. There are some shoes for distance running, for marathon, for field and for sprint events.

Today, we’re going to show you the Nike Zoom Matumbo 2 Shoes, which are distance running shoes that are an update to the previous Nike Matumbo. And just like it, these are also designed for 3,000m to 10,000m events.

Nike Zoom Matumbo 2 Shoes in Volt/Gold/Sequoia

Well I guess this is lighter compared to its predecessor since this is an update to the previous Matumbo in the first place. Plus, you could see a huge difference on its design and materials used.

This one is made of lightweight mesh and it’s said to feel almost weightless! And aside from being lightweight, this mesh upper also provides breathability.

Like the predecessor of this shoe, this also comes with Flywire technology over the midfoot and it’s made from high tensile strength fibers that are layered right between the TPU and foam. However, unlike the predecessor, this has additional Dynamic Flywire, which helps hug the foot and lock it securely in place for support.

This then has a Phylon midsole that’s lightweight and as well as carbon fiber shank in the midfoot for improved torsional rigidity.

Completing this is the Sharkskin outsole that extends from the midfoot to the heel for increased traction. Along with this is the Horseshoe Pebax Plate that houses four spikes in the forefoot.

Aside from Volt color, this shoe is also available in Royal color version.
